Job Description
The University of Tennessee Foundation, Inc (UTFI) invites applications and nominations to fill the position of Advancement Coordinator for the College of Nursing on the University of Tennessee, Knoxville campus. Reporting to the Senior Director of Advancement, the Advancement Coordinator is responsible for supporting the College of Nursing's (CON) advancement efforts with a focus on annual giving, stewardship, and event planning with a goal to move donors through the philanthropic continuum.
Responsibilities
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Annual Giving and Scholarship Award Process: Serve as the CON lead for Annual Giving efforts, while collaborating with the Sr. Director of Advancement and UT Knoxville's central Advancement Annual Giving team to set and achieve goals. Develop and grow the college's Dean's Circle (annual gifts to any CON fund of $1,000 or more) and leadership annual donors ($1,000 to $5,000). This position introduces an opportunity for the right candidate to create a blueprint for a Vol Nursing Annual Giving Program and have ownership of its success.
Stewardship, Gift Processing, Data Management and Reporting: Executes comprehensive stewardship activities, ensuring consistent donor gratitude through gift processing, record-keeping, and regular reporting to leadership. A key function involves mastering UTFI's CRM platform (ACE) to improve data integrity by accurately recording and updating crucial constituent information. Furthermore, this position collaborates with central stewardship and the Senior Director of Advancement to create impactful reports and unique engagement opportunities for major donors.
Event Management: Event planner for all fundraising and alumni/donor/prospect engagement events. These events may include a signature fundraising gala; tailgates; alumni and friend's receptions. Event planning will include setting goals, building a budget and guest list, managing registrations and event communications, securing auction items, working with venues, and other event-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
The candidate who fills the Advancement Coordinator position is required to have:
- Bachelor's degree
- 1+ year of professional work experience in either event planning, sales or fundraising
- Superior organizational skills
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage and coordinate multiple complex projects while consistently meeting deadlines
A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required due to travel responsibilities of the position. UTFI reserves the right to consider all appropriate circumstances. In general, any significant driving offense less than 12 months old will eliminate the application from consideration for the position.
Preferred Education and Experience
In addition to meeting the required qualifications, the preferred candidate will have:
- Higher education advancement fundraising experience
