What is Concurrent Enrollment in the High Schools?

Through Concurrent Enrollment, high school students take CCA-transcripted college classes while in high school. High school teachers must apply to become CCA adjunct instructors; meet as all other instructors at CCA; and teach the courses using the same competencies, standards, syllabus, and materials as courses at CCA.

Instructor for Concurrent Enrollment Only

General Education or GT (guaranteed pathways) courses:
The successful Concurrent Enrollment instructor must have a Master's degree in the discipline that they are hired for, or an unrelated Master's degree and at least 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline to be taught. They must also be approved by the chair.

Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses:
The successful Concurrent Enrollment instructor must meet the qualifications of their specific discipline which may include certification/ licensure or a bachelor or master's degree. They must also meet the occupational experience hours required.




Salary: CE instructors are paid by the district they are employed by.
Benefits: There are no insurance benefits offered with this position; however, other benefits associated with this type of position include a pension plan through the Colorado Public Employees Retirement Association and eligibility to contribute to supplemental retirement plans.
