The Department of Radiation Oncology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Instructor positions in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of proton therapy. Applicants must have an M.D. degree. Applicants are required to be Board Eligible for the American Board of Radiology.

Responsibilities may include ongoing evaluation and management of patients diagnosed with cancer, and the delivery of radiation therapy-related care; conduct patient consultations and treatment across various cancer disease sites utilizing a variety of treatment modalities, including proton therapy. Role may include research activities, including initiating clinical trials. Education responsibilities may include teaching, training and mentoring of radiation oncology residents, medical physics residents, medical physics graduate students, visiting physics residents or trainees from other institutions or other countries, etc. Other informal and formal teachings include but are not limited to participating in resident didactic series, both as a lecturer and as an in-person discussant.

The successful applicant will have an opportunity to build and establish a clinical practice in the Radiation Oncology department. The applicant may also participate in educational and clinical research activities.

With the Abramson Cancer Center of the University of Pennsylvania, Penn Radiation Oncology provides patient care at the Ruth and Raymond Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine and fourteen community-based sites
