Description of Position:
Adjunct Faculty member to instruct high school and college students in Office Technologies, encompassing essential skills such as keyboarding, computer literacy, internet usage, scheduling, and office management. The ideal candidate will facilitate learning through a blend of hands-on instruction and theoretical concepts, empowering students to excel in administrative office practices and cultivate vital problem-solving and interpersonal skills for professional success.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Adjunct Faculty duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. providing instruction in accordance with established curriculum, course outlines and class schedules;
2. creating and maintaining an environment which emphasizes learning, encourages free discussion of ideas and critical thinking;
3. evaluating progress of students concerning educational matters and grades student work;
4. meeting with students outside of class;
5. maintaining appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics;
6. maintaining current knowledge in the subject matter areas;
7. fulfilling professional responsibilities of a part-time/temporary faculty member;
8. maintaining accurate academic records;
9. performing other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualification-Education/Experience:
Any Degree and Professional Experience in Office Technologies

Any bachelors degree or higher and two years of professional experience, or any associate degree and six years of professional experience.

Professional experience is required when the applicant possesses a masters degree.

The professional experience required must be directly related to the faculty members teaching assignment.
Understanding of and sensitivity to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, sexual orientation and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, staff and faculty.

Desirable Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite concentration in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Available to teach face to face morning classes.
  • Experience working with students from diverse racial, social, cultural and economic backgrounds.
  • Familiarity with effective classroom management techniques for working with High School students.
  • Familiarity with CANVAS or other learning management platforms
  • Experience teaching online or ability to pass 4CD "Becoming and Effective Online Instructor" course.
  • Experience with or knowledge of principles of good customer service.
  • Excellent Business communication, writing and presentation skills.
  • Two or more years full-time professional office experience.
